This is our Major Fall Fundraiser for 2009!

Our annual fundraising carnival, Roadrunner Roundup, is almost here! Join us for a fun filled evening for the entire family!

Roadrunner Roundup Order Form

Dear Desert Willow Parents,

Roadrunner Roundup
This year, Desert Willows Elementary School’s Annual Roadrunner Roundup is scheduled for Friday, October 9th, 2009.  Sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), this fundraising event will offer a variety of fun filled, family activities, including Class Baskets, a Silent Auction, Roadrunner Raffle, 50/50 Raffle and a Cake Walk.  In addition to a BBQ dinner, there will be a DJ/music, inflatable's and bouncies, a dunk tank, money booth and of course the famous, annual teacher kick ball game.  This evening is one of the major fundraising events for the year that is why we are specifically asking for your support and help.

We Need Your Involvement
By going out and asking for items and/or services from local businesses and community members to make our Silent Auction/Roadrunner Raffle a huge success.  If each Desert Willow family would commit to obtaining just one item, imagine the potential dollars we could earn for our school with over 647 students!  Would your family, business or the business you work for, consider being a Sponsor/Underwriter for any part of our Roadrunner Roundup event?  By Sponsoring/Underwriting an expense, more funds can be directed toward supporting our school.

We Need Your Support
Our PTO runs on dollars earned strictly through our fundraising efforts and our accomplishments come directly from the support and generosity of our parents and community members.  It is our highest priority to continue to raise the necessary funds to enhance our children’s education.  This year, the PTO started out the year by offsetting the salary of four Kindergarten Aides and purchasing five computers for the computer lab due to the increase in class size.  In addition, we are funding the mounting of two existing Smart Boards and are responding to various teacher requests for supplies, technology, learning materials and resources that cannot otherwise be provided due to the district’s limited budget.

Who Do You Know?
Think of the businesses and services you utilize everyday.  Your hairdresser or nail technician, chiropractor, dentist, doctor or massage therapist.  Your insurance company, landscaper, house cleaner or window washer.  Your dog groomer, florist, family photographer, dance or golf instructor, gym or personal trainer.  What restaurants, resorts or hotels does your family frequent?

Solicitation Letter

What Can You Ask For?
Any merchandise, and/or good and services.  Gift certificates, gift cards, art, celebrity sports memorabilia or baskets of goodies.  Toys, sports and camping equipment, electronics or household items.  Consider donating event, sports, concert or theater tickets, frequent flyer miles, your mountain cabin or time-share.  The possibilities are endless.  Community members, business owners and individuals do want to help, so don’t be afraid to ask.  If you ask for it, chances are, you’ll get it!

What Do You Take With You?
A copy of the DWES PTO solicitation letter, Silent Auction/Roadrunner Raffle Donation Pledge Form and Sponsor/Underwriter Contribution Form.  You may pick up copies in the school office or print them off this webpage.

Donation Pledge Form

Everyone Benefits All donors will be acknowledged in the event program.  Sponsors/Underwriters will have a sign with their company name and logo next to the activity/attraction they contribute to.  Be sure to tell whomever you’re speaking with that we will gladly put out flyers, business cards and company information supporting their respective donation.  In turn, Desert Willow families will support the businesses and companies that help our school through their patronage.

Let’s Raise Some Loot
We hope that our excitement for this coming event is contagious!  We cannot accomplish the PTO’s goals alone!  Please get involved, help obtain Sponsorships/Underwriters along with Silent Auction/Roadrunner Raffle items.  If you want to sign up to participate on a committee for this event and/or are interested in volunteering the night of, please watch for a flyer on an upcoming informational and planning meeting.  If you have any questions, please contact RoseMary Ciammitti at (480) 361-2729 (Home), (480) 773-0446 (Cell) or by e-mail at RoseMary Ciammitti Email
